Homage to Seurat: Les Poseurs and the Artist in His Studio

Homage to Seurat: Les Poseurs and the Artist in His Studio is an installation that centers on a video of an artist working in his studio. In this piece Zits plays with a number of traditional notions revolving around the gaze, fashion and the construction of an image.

Using the blue screen process he has added a layer that presents men promenading (in slow motion) down a runway and getting ready for the show. In the course of producing the surface layer of this video Johannes has deliberately reduced it's quality to accentuate the digital process. On the door of the room leading to the video Johannes a display series of images referenced his inspiration and allowed the viewer to see more directly some of the links.
